I was five years old when I first visited the local video store in my small northeastern Pennsylvania town. My dad picked a childhood favorite for us to watch: “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” I was transported to a South American jungle alongside Indiana Jones. When he approached the Golden Idol, his face, filled with awe, paralleled mine.

For me, films are more than just an escape; they offer comfort and deep insight. Movies can make you laugh, cry, think and sometimes they give you a shoulder to lean on — a sign that you’re not alone.

At Syracuse University, my passion for film has only grown. Countless friendships have stemmed from talking about movies. And through writing for The Daily Orange, I’ve explored new releases and discovered the blossoming film community the city of Syracuse has to offer.

When I’m not watching a movie or working for The D.O., you can find me cheering for Penn State football, listening to classic rock or trying Italian restaurants in Syracuse.

In my work, I’m constantly striving to learn and improve while drawing on my passions to create meaningful stories.
